Kindness Could Nab You Free Tickets To the Northwestern Opener

Do You Want Free Tickets To the Northwestern Opener? Well, you’re in luck. All you need to do is be nice to someone. I know, I know, bummer…nothing is ever easy, is it?

But seriously, it feels like the world needs a bit more kindness. Human beings can be so awful to one another and doing nice things for others, paying it forward, helping out, volunteering, etc., are all terrific things people can do to both make others feel better and also make themselves feel fantastic.

A regular reader of Boiled Sports has contacted us and said he and his missus want to give away two premium tickets to the Northwestern game on Aug 30. That’s the season opener, under the lights on a Thursday night. It’ll be a tremendous atmosphere as Purdue football fans are antsy for the train to roll again.

So here’s the deal:

1.       Nominate someone who did/does something nice. No specific parameters. Could be helping an old lady cross the street, could be volunteering at a soup kitchen, could be Big Brothers/Big Sisters, could be teaching Boilerdowd about technology…could be really anything. Does not need to involve anyone spending a lot of money.

2.       Post your nomination (ideally with some kind of photo(s)) on twitter using the hashtag #BSkindness or post it to our FB page OR email it to us at BoiledSports@gmail.com. We’d ask that you only use the email option if you really can’t do it via social media (either you’re not on Twitter or FB or it would violate someone’s privacy). While I totally understand the feeling of not wanting to “brag” about kindness on social media, we’d like to give you the green light to make an exception here – sharing acts of kindness can sometimes make others follow your lead. Some humblebragging about what someone has done to pay it forward is okay.

3.       Start whenever you want – the judging is open. Decisions will be made by the BS staff early the week of August 20. If it’s really hard to decide and we want to abdicate responsibility, we’ll put it up for a vote. Tickets are in the “Premium” section, so you’ll need to behave yourself.

Go forth and be kind, friends. And if this does well, maybe there will be more giveaways of this sort.

Remember, hashtag #BSkindness.
