Friend of BS Tyler Trent to Be Honored
Tyler Trent, cancer-battler, Purdue sports reporter and all-around good guy is being honored at the National Football Foundation’s Honors Dinner this coming Sunday. He’ll be presented with the “Patrick Mackey Courage Award,” which sounds damn good to us.
He’s in good company at this awards dinner, too, as others to be honored include David Blough, Elijah Sindelar and Jeff Washburn. Also at the dinner, two former Purdue football players will be celebrated for their inductions into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame – Dale Samuels and Len Dawson.
More info can be found here (it’s also clear the Purduesports.com editors need to learn the difference between “flair” and “flare”), but suffice it to say the guy we’re most excited for is Tyler.
He’s been featured in stories by Gregg Doyel and Mike Carmin, among others. He’s also been contacted by Dabo Swinney and Bill Snyder with messages of prayers and support.
