No, OSU Fans, Neil Didn't Claim the Moon for You
There are fighting words and then there are words worth fighting about. As any Boilermaker knows, Neil Armstrong, first man to set foot on the moon, is a proud alum of Purdue. He graduated from Purdue in 1955 and after his moonwalking days, he also completed his M.S. at Southern Cal.
Do you know where he did not go to school? Ohio State.
Oh, sure, he was born in Ohio but was made aware that he was free to go at the age of 17, at which time he immediately fled for Purdue University.
All of these facts make it interesting to me to see this kind of shirt being sold at the propaganda factory known as Eleven Warriors:
And in the description, we have the following:
Let's face facts: while the 1967 Outer Space Treaty, ratified by 102 nations, established all of outer space as international commons, Ohio owns the damn moon. Neil Armstrong got there first and claimed it for the Buckeye State as this fine t-shirt commemorates.
Yes, let's "face facts," indeed.
