Welcome The Railroad Tie (@therailroadtie)
If you follow us on twitter (and if you’re not, you’re missing out), you may have seen us interact with and promote to you the twitter feed known as @TheRailRoadTie. RRT is run by Mike Henry, who is, quite frankly, a good dude. He knows Purdue sports and has what some might call an unhealthy passion for Purdue basketball and college basketball in general. He’s also a hockey fan, so some of you may recall the hockey-related podcast he joined me for last spring. Please don’t hold that against him. Mike used to run a Purdue site known as therailroadtie.com, where he hosted the Purdue Basketball Beat podcast. He then went on to be the Purdue editor at Hoosier Hoops Report. And now, I’m proud to say, his circuitous journey has brought him to where he always wanted to be, into the waiting and loving embrace of Boiled Sports.
We danced around it for years, flirting from a distance, but always making time with other paramours. But now, at long last, this true love story comes true.
Wait, where was I?
Oh yeah. Mike will be joining us here and that’s a very good thing. In addition to the usual BS newbie requirements of getting us coffee, feeding the Swamey grapes and massaging Boilerdowd’s feet, Mike will also produce content. Not only will he provide fresh perspective, more basketball analysis and the occasional football rant, but he’s also potentially planning on continuing the Basketball Beat as – get this – a part of the Boiled Sports Radio Network. Yeah, ClearChannel, we’re coming for your ass.
Mike will be posting here as “RRT1” and will remain on twitter at @TheRailRoadTie. He can be contacted at therailroadtie@gmail.com or of course, you can get messages to him via our email, too.
Sure, we’ve been slow around here lately, but don’t mistake that for us slowing down in general. We’re like a serpent, just waiting to strike. The Boiled Sports quest for world domination continues, as we move forward in our slow-motion absorption of the best Purdue writers available.
